Say 'No' to plastic coffee cups even during COVID-19.
Since the inception of COVID-19, there has been a move back to single use plastics in an effort to reduce the risk of transmission rates from surfaces. However, a statement by scientists, including epidemiologists, virologists, biologists, chemists and doctors, says that based on the best available science and guidance from public health professionals, reusable systems such as 'keep cups' can be used safely by employing basic hygiene.” (Laville 2020) To read the full article click here. As a progressive environmental initiative, Prospect Local Environment Group (PLEG) campaign is to raise community awareness to encourage both community and cafes to switch to using non-disposable, reusable coffee cups and Bring your Own Clean Cup.
